Employer Engagement
Code of Conduct
As part of our overall Employer Engagement Strategy, we have developed and adopted a code of conduct. This code sets out the core standards that businesses, schools, colleges, stakeholders and other organisations in the community can expect to receive when they work with HBEP and ReBEP. We want our partners to feel welcomed and valued before, during and after their involvement with the BEP and to gain mutual benefits as a result of working in partnership with us.
Our Key Commitments
1. To look after our partners
We will do this by:
- Helping them to achieve their personal objectives
- Ensuring impositions on partners are avoided by understanding their capacity for involvement
- Providing effective networking and communications systems and ensuring a prompt response to all telephone calls or other communications and requests from partners
2. To prepare our partners appropriately
We will do this by:
- Involving partners in the planning process as early as possible
- Providing clear, relevant information about the proposed activity, its curriculum context and intended learning outcomes
- Preparing participants by helping them to understand the purpose of the activity, their role within it and the partner’s involvement
- Communicating arrangements to the partner in good time and avoiding alterations wherever possible
3. To support partners throughout their involvement
We will do this by:
- Ensuring that partners have access to a point of contact who is easily available to deal with any problems or offer guidance
- Regularly making contact with the partner to review progress
4. To value partners’ contributions
We will do this by:
- Providing appropriate support to those participating in BEP activities
- Planning some means of celebrating the success of the partnership and recognising the partners’ contribution
- Inviting them to evaluate their experience and our support for them
- Working with them to help improve and enhance the quality of BEP activities and their contribution to them
- Where appropriate, offering the partner access to BEP resources including the expertise of staff.
