Business / Industry Speakers
Description
Through its extensive networks and contacts with business, industry and the community, the EBP can arrange appropriate speakers for specific purposes, for example :
- classroom-based support for subject teaching
- increased understanding of subject relevance to the world of work
- introduction to work related language and vocabulary
- examples of rights and responsibilities in the workplace
- explanation of the chief characteristics of different business operations
- insight into career and progression choice
Through these activities, teaching staff also have the
opportunity to refresh their knowledge of current working legislation, practices and processes.
Aims, objectives and learning outcomes
Students and teachers learn from contact with personnel from different employment sectors. Potential learning outcomes include :
- practical applications of subject-based knowledge, business operation, career pathways and the extent and diversity of local and national employment opportunities.
