Extended work experience placements offer students the opportunity to work with an employer for one or more days each week over an extended period of time, such as a term or a year.
The EBP arranges placements, checking their suitability and conformity to relevant legislation. In addition, the EBP is able to provide a full monitoring service for attendance which can include regular visits to students on employers’ premises, reviews and action plans if required.
This type of placement can be used in conjunction with a vocational offer to a student, perhaps as support for a course offered by a training provider or a college.
Extended placements are a very effective way of enabling students to gain skills and competencies directly associated with their chosen career.
