Pre-16 Work Experience   

Description

Young people are placed with an employer for two weeks. The programme is designed to give students aged 14 - 16 an opportunity to develop key and employability skills by gaining first hand experience of the work place.  The placements are generic rather than vocational. 

The BEP ensures all placements conform to relevant legislation specifically around Health & Safety and Risk Assessment.  Employers receive information and support throughout the placement process.  Each student receives a work experience diary to record their experiences.

Aims, objectives and learning outcomes

Students develop business awareness, key and employability skills by direct experience of the world of work.  All students who satisfactorily complete their work experience receive certification.

Post-16 Work Experience

Description

Post-16 Work Experience is arranged to support the vocational coursework and career aspirations of students aged 16 and over.  As with Pre-16 Work Experience, the BEP ensures all placements conform to relevant legislation specifically around Health & Safety and Risk Assessment.  Employers receive information and support throughout the placement process.

Aims, objectives and learning outcomes

Student develop employability skills whilst meeting their vocational learning objectives.  The BEP and schools / colleges certificate the experience.
