Using activities selected from this document, students are given opportunities to think about and, therefore, maximise the learning outcomes to be gained from work experience. The EBP Work Experience Briefing Conference enhances schools’ briefing programmes and is supported by EBP staff and / or volunteer facilitators from business and the community. Popular choices for activities include Work and School – What’s Different?, Communications, Health & Safety, What Employers Want.
The briefing conference aims to equip students with an insight into the knowledge and skills they will develop over their period of work experience and prepare them for the differences between life at school and the world of work. Students will leave the conference with clearer expectations and a better understanding of what to expect and how to conduct themselves whilst in the work placement.
